Tony L. Puyot Bung Bu

Black Belt Magazine 1991 Tony L. Puyot

Was doing some research on a former sifu of mine and found a Black Belt Magazine from 1991 Titled, "The Praying Mantis" "Deadliest Fighting Form".

Inside a article about the praying mantis kung fu system and one of the main forms called, "Bung Bu" Sifu Puyot said that mantis form should teach students the spirit, principles and theories of their particular style.

The magazine also gives a brief history about the founder of the mantis system. Wang Lang ,which took place around the Shatung Province, around the mid 1700 century. Were he first found his devastating style from watching a mantis fighting a cicada.

Sifu Puyot describes prying mantis as a sophisticated kung fu system and contains principles of advancing, controlling, blocking, attacking, counterattacking and evasion. All which are found in the "Bung Bu Form"

Inside he shows techniques such as:
  1. The Mantis Seizes Cicada
  2. Fanning Air With Mantis Hands
  3. Heaven Up Lifting Cannon
He go's on talking about Proper use of the mantis claw, grabbing, speed, with striking, elbows and kicking techniques.

Northern Mantis Kung Fu

My name is David Athony Orteag and Mantis Kung Fu is my base system for martial arts. There are many reasons to respect and to fear the mantis system of fighting. The art is Fast, Lethal and Beautiful in a sense.

I have been studying many different teachers such as:
1. Tony Puyot
2. Lee Kam Wing
3. Paul Eng
I had the Honor of learning under Sifu Tony Puyot. He had a school in Ramona, Ca. He was Deadly Fast and Such Power.
After training under Sifu Puyot i never felt so healthy strong and confident in myself. I would tell you more about his training but those are the secrets of the Mantis System.
